四国八十八ケ所巡り【第38番札所 金剛福寺】
金剛福寺は、高知県土佐清水市にある真言宗豊山派の寺院。蹉?山、補陀洛院と号す。本尊は千手観世音菩薩。四国八十八箇所第三十八番札所。
寺伝によれば、弘仁13年（822年）に、嵯峨天皇から「補陀洛東門（ふだらくとうもん）」の勅額を受けた空海（弘法大師）が、三面千手観世音菩薩を刻んで堂宇を建てて安置し開創したという。
空海が唐から帰国の前に有縁の地を求めて東に向かって投げたといわれる五鈷杵は足摺岬に飛来したといわれている。寺名は、五鈷杵は金剛杵ともいわれそれから金剛を、観音経の「福聚海無量」から福を由来したとされている。
四国最南端の第38番札所。四国霊場88ヶ所巡りの第38番札所金剛福寺修行の道場といわれる高知県の中でも、札所間の距離が最も長い場所にあります。
境内には亜熱帯植物が繁っている。足摺岬の遊歩道付近には、ゆるぎ石、亀石、大師一夜建立ならずの華表、亀呼場、大師の爪書き石の「弘法大師の七不思議」の伝説が残されている。
山号の文字「蹉」も「つまづく」の意味で、この地が難所であったことを示していて、当寺は俗に足摺山という。

四国八十八箇所は、四国にある空海ゆかりの88か所の仏教寺院の総称で、四国霊場の最も代表的な札所である。他に「八十八箇所」「お四国さん」「本四国」などの呼称がある。四国八十八箇所を巡礼することを四国遍路、遍路といい、また四国八十八ヶ所霊場会では「四国巡礼」といい、他に「四国巡拝」などともいう。
俳句では春の季語となり、地元の人々は巡礼者を「お遍路さん」と呼ぶ。また、札所に参詣することを「打つ」、巡礼に親切にすることを「お接待」と表現する。
阿波国（現・徳島県）の霊場は「発心の道場」で23か寺、
土佐国（現・高知県）の霊場は「修行の道場」で16か寺、
伊予国（現・愛媛県）の霊場は「菩提の道場」で26か寺、
讃岐国（現・香川県）の霊場は「涅槃の道場」で23か寺、
合計88寺。
個人的には亀がとっても印象的でした。

Kongofukuji is a temple of the Toyozan school of the Shingon sect located in Tosashimizu City, Kochi Prefecture. It is called Fuda Rakuin. The principal image is the Senju Kanzeon Bodhisattva. The 38th temple of the 88 temples in Shikoku.
According to temple legend, in 822, Kukai (Kobo Daishi), who received an imperial plaque from Emperor Saga with the title “Fudarakutomon,” carved a statue of the three-faced, thousand-armed Kanzeon Bodhisattva. It is said that a hall was built, enshrined, and opened.
It is said that Kukai threw the five-wheeled pestle towards the east before returning from the Tang Dynasty in search of a place to connect with him, and it is said to have landed at Cape Ashizuri. The name of the temple is said to be derived from the word Kongo, which is also called Kongoki, and the word good fortune from the Kannon Sutra’s “Fukujukai Muryo.”
The 38th temple at the southernmost tip of Shikoku. It is said to be the 38th temple of the 88 sacred sites in Shikoku and is said to be the dojo for ascetic practices at Kongofukuji Temple, and is located in the place with the longest distance between temples in Kochi Prefecture.
Subtropical plants grow in the precincts. Near the promenade of Cape Ashizuri, there are legends of the “Seven Wonders of Kobo Daishi,” including Yurugi-ishi, Turtle-ishi, a flower table that was not erected overnight by Daishi, Kame-koba, and a stone with Daishi’s nails written on it.
The character “蹉” in the name of the mountain also means “to stumble”, indicating that this area was a difficult place, and the temple is commonly called Mt. Ashizuri.
Legends about turtles
When Kobo Daishi called for a turtle from Cape Ashizuri, the turtle appeared.
Taishi crossed to Fudoiwa Rock and prayed for physical safety and safety at sea.
Shikoku 88 Temples is a general term for the 88 Buddhist temples in Shikoku that are associated with Kukai, and are the most representative temples of the Shikoku sacred sites. Other names include “88 locations,” “O-Shikoku-san,” and “hon-Shikoku.” Pilgrimage to the 88 sites in Shikoku is called Shikoku Henro or Henro, and the Shikoku 88 Sacred Sites Association calls it “Shikoku Pilgrimage,” and it is also called “Shikoku Pilgrimage.”
In haiku, it is a seasonal word for spring, and locals call pilgrims “Ohenro-san.” Also, visiting a temple is called “hit”, and being kind to pilgrims is called “otenten.”
The sacred place in Awa Province (present-day Tokushima Prefecture) is the “Hatsushin Dojo”, which has 23 temples,
The sacred sites of Tosa Province (currently Kochi Prefecture) are “training dojos” with 16 temples,
The sacred place in Iyo Province (present-day Ehime Prefecture) is the Bodhi Dojo, which has 26 temples,
Sanuki Province (present-day Kagawa Prefecture) has 23 temples and “Dojos of Nirvana” sacred sites.
A total of 88 temples.
