Welcome to BRO-POTA TV！ Continuing from last time, we will explore the charms of BROMPTON and Onomichi. "Oyatsu-to-Yamaneko" is popular for its old-fashioned pudding in a small milk bottle！ In the game "Yakuza 6," which is set in Onomichi, this is where they can obtain recovery items(pudding?). The glass wall display under the eaves is lovely. Onomichi is also famous as the place where Fumiko Hayashi, famous for her novel "A Wanderer’s Notebook," lived. This is the Fumiko Hayashi Literature Memorial Hall, and in the back stands her former residence that can be visited. LORO CYCLEWORKS, well-known for its BROMPTON LOVERS MEETING, also has an Onomichi store in the shopping arcade！ Mr. Matsumura’s BROMPTON was also purchased at LORO. LORO’s Onomichi store is located at the starting point of the Shimanami Kaido, so they also rent bicycles. The Onomichi Chamber of Commerce Memorial Hall is a restored and renovated Taisho era building and is designated as an important cultural property by Onomichi City. Onomichi City is recognized as a Japan Heritage site as a "boxy city from the Middle Ages spun by the Onomichi Waterway". During the Edo period, Onomichi was within the domain of the Hiroshima clan. Yamato-Yu is a renovated public bathhouse and a soup dumpling bar where you can enjoy Taiwanese cuisine. Onomichi ramen features a soy sauce-based soup with floating pork back fat and flat noodles. After the 2019 BROMPTON LOVERS MEETING, I stayed at "Anago no Nedoko", a guesthouse in Onomichi, a reclaimed vacant house. Here we will fold up the BROMPTON and explore the mountainside of Onomichi. Mr. Matsumura’s BROMPTON has a KiLEY vintage light installed. The genuine BROMPTON brass bell also has a hidden BROMPTON logo！ My personal customization rule for BROMPTON is that, as a rule, the parts with the BROMPTON logo must remain genuine！ As you would expect from a professional navigator! The BROMPTON’s main frame has the factory tool kit securely built in. We can go on paths that are inaccessible by bicycle with the BROMPTON. We are pleased to visit Letterpress Kamperla. The old-fashioned letterpress machine and the wall full of type (the metal type of letters used in letterpress printing) are wonderful！ At Kamupanella, visitors can create their own original notebooks and cards in a letterpress printing workshop. Hush money is expensive in this world. This was originally a private house where the grandmother ran a beauty salon. The location of the entrance was the old bathhouse！ They have made major changes to the room layout, and the second floor is being used as a design office. We usually leave our BROMPTONs at the bottom of the stairs, but we want to take some Onomichi-like reflection pictures, so we fold them up and go with them！ Since this is a slope that leads to Senkoji Temple, it is possible that when the stairs were being built, the Buddhist statues along the road were enshrined in one place. Along the slope are towering stone walls whose height and warp resemble castle walls！ This stone wall was once built by a wealthy merchant in Onomichi. In addition to the approach to Senkoji Temple, there are many small paths leading in all directions. The building on the stone wall became an advanced uptown apartment in 1963 and is now used as an inn and cafe. Onomichi is also a city of literature, so I often see poems and inscriptions along the way. Looking back here, we see a view typical of Onomichi…！ This is the former Fukui Residence, a Japanese Heritage Site, "A boxy city from the Middle Ages spun by the Onomichi waterway. At a typical Onomichi viewpoint, we will have a snack and a recovery item from "Oyatsu-to-Yamaneko". The pudding comes with a lemon sauce from Setoda, Onomichi, which can be used to change the taste. The fish-shaped container that comes with sushi or bento and the cat illustration are a good combination.
