In Hondo Town, Amakusa City, there is Nishino Kubo Park, where you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing and a rare iris garden that makes use of terraced rice fields in the countryside. I have visited this park once before to see the cherry blossoms in spring. The last time, around the end of March in early spring, we introduced the park as the park with the most cherry blossom trees in the Amakusa Islands. The season is changing and it is now June, which is known as early summer. Today I came to see the irises, Japanese irises, and hydrangeas. In terms of scale, there are 250,000 irises of 19 different varieties and 6,000 hydrangeas planted. Furthermore, irises are planted in the rice terraces and the walkways are made of wooden decks. It’s visually beautiful and a great place for a fun stroll. The Iris Festival is held every year during the flowering season. Also, at night (19:30-21:00), you can enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of fireflies flying around. Today I am at Nishino Kubo Park in Hondo Town, Amakusa City. I came to see the Japanese irises. However, the date is mid-June, and the peak of flowering has passed. The best time to see them is from late May to early June every year. There are still a few flowers left. Enjoy them. First, let’s take a look at the hydrangeas. There are apparently about 6,000 hydrangeas. There are apparently 250,000 irises of 19 different varieties. Above all, it is a rare iris garden that makes use of terraced rice fields in a rural area. It’s a little sad that there aren’t many flowers… On that day, a couple came to take wedding photos.
