Welcome to BRO-POTA TV！ Continuing from last time, we will explore the charms of BROMPTON and Onomichi. I see that there is a ferry that carries cars. There are three ferry routes to and from Mukojima Island, which is connected to the Shimanami Kaido. We found a bike rental shop with a BROMPTON displayed out front！ The town of Onomichi has fashionable streetlights. We arrived at the ferry terminal for Mukojima in front of Onomichi Station. The ferry is an important local stop used by cyclists on the Shimanami Kaido and local students. Onomichi’s ferry boats have many services, and bicycles can also be taken for +10 yen！ In addition to ferry boats bound for Mukojima, there are also boats heading to islands along the Shimanami Kaido. BROMPTON is easy to fold up and transport on a bicycle, so you can ride the Shimanami Kaido Road at will！ Boats leave from here for Setoda and Innoshima. In Setoda, Ikuchi Island, you can ride BROMPTON at "Setouchi Guide House Tabitasu"! WAKKA on Omishima is a popular glamping and lodging facility for cyclists. At the BROMPTON LOVERS MEETING, Mr. Matsumura took a boat from Onomichi to Setoda, and from there to the venue on Hakata Island with the participating BROMPTON owners. ↗In fact, he appears briefly in the BROMPTON LOVERS MEETING video！ ONOMICHI U2 is a renovated shipping warehouse named "Prefectural Uwaya Warehouse No. 2" built in 1943. The name U2 was named after the "U" and "2" from the prefectural Uwaya house No. 2. The U2 includes a hotel designed to accommodate cyclists, as well as a fashionable store. The deck facing the sea on the Onomichi waterway is a place where anyone can feel at home. In Onomichi, old buildings are being repurposed in various ways through the vacant house revitalization project！ This retro building is the "Onomichi Gaudi House," built in 1933 as a villa and now a private lodging place. I have done some old house DIY myself, but it must have been a lot of work just to bring the materials in here. If an old building is torn down, the current law does not allow the same thing to be built again, so it is important to protect cultural assets by rehabilitating and utilizing them. Most of the buildings in Onomichi are said to be one-of-a-kind, built by craftsmen who took advantage of the topography and considered such factors as sunlight, wind flow, and views. Around the corner from Kitamura Shoten is the Sangenya Apartment, which is being used in a vacant house restoration project！ Going with local navigators on these small roads is the kind of fun that only BROMPTON pottering can provide！ Suddenly, a space with a nostalgic atmosphere appeared in a back alley！ Each of the former vacant apartments is now occupied by a variety of stores, including ateliers, cafes, bookstores, and second-hand clothing stores. The building itself is a cultural asset. Beyond the small room is an antiquarian bookstore⁉ An old Showa-era apartment building (former Rakuzanso) with no bathroom and shared toilets has been revitalized as a manufacturing center. We came to the area behind JR Onomichi Station. It is an izakaya of the Ittoku Group, which operates popular restaurants in Onomichi. The Ittoku Group operates SIMA salon, a tour base, as well as taverns, bars, cafes, and inns in the Onomichi and Fukuyama areas. We would be grateful if you could subscribe and press the Good button.
