Flowing through Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture The Kasumizawa Power Station is located upstream of the Azusa River. The Kasumizawa Power Station was completed in 1928. The Akimoto Power Station, which was completed in 1940, was built to prevent the water level of Lake Inawashiro from decreasing. The newly constructed facility has a water intake at Lake Akimoto, one of the three Urabandai lakes. Here is the water intake. Lake Akimoto is an artificial lake built in 1919. It was originally a swampy area It has been improved to its current form. The Miura Power Station, completed in 1945, is the source of all water for the Kiso River system. The Miura Dam was said to be the largest construction during the war, and was built in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees. Construction continued in the frigid world. When it was difficult to build dams in Japan Dams of this size are extremely rare. The Kasekonai Power Station is located upstream of the Komagome River, which flows through Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. Initially, the hot spring water from upstream had melted the waterwheel and iron pipes of the power plant. Yokooka No. 2 Power Station is located at the upper reaches of the Torigoe River, which flows through Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture. Yokooka No. 2 Power Plant, which was completed in 1927, uses a unique water intake method. It is said to be the only power plant in Japan. This is the most beautiful water intake in Japan.
