land next door is a chi e car store Chi eawa short for something small and cute is a very popular manga nowadays the line for the store wraps all the way around the mall in fact that whole section of the mall is a paradise for Kawaii characters and hobbies Venture deeper to B2 and you’ll discover the umeda food Hall marking the start of the so-called umeda dungeon an underground Maze of endless restaurants shops and eateries don’t miss those giant cream filled Donuts the dough is Fluffy and delicious this is the seasonal special Sakura donut back to the um meta dungeon the South Hall of the honu soman guy is called gouret Museum it is actually right below the Osaka you made a Station Indian curry is a 21 counter seat establishment since 1947 the curry starts off sweet but then a kick of spiciness follows it’s a delicious cycle that keeps you coming back for more before you know it you’ve devoured the entire plate it was the quickest and most satisfying lunch this is a branch of tonkatsu chain and their food is pretty good for 20100 Yen you get a mouthwatering black pork cutlet 100 yen more to add green onion and daon from Kyoto we also treated ourselves to some delicious oysters and shrimp as usual you get unlimited cabbage and rice so you can Feast to your heart’s content and don’t forget the standing sushi bar Whitey opened in 1963 isum meda’s largest underground shopping mall with over 200 shops and restaurants locals affectionately call it y chica a playful nod to both youa underground and a girl’s neck name it’s seemingly endless mazike corridors can be a bit of a puzzle but that’s part of the fun isumi nooba is a popular Gathering Spot right next to Whitey is the grand honu department store there you’ll find the most spectacular food haul ever it’s a treasure Trove of endless rows of snacks desserts and all sorts of mouthwatering goodies beautifully displayed at the top floor you’ll find an incredible spot for charcoal grilled chicken rice three ways to enjoy the rice first enjoy it just as is second mix in a half-boiled egg for a rich twist finally pour over chicken stock to turn it into a chauki we also ordered tantan noodles and chicken ramen the chicken soup is incredibly flavorful and satisfying back to the underground we go after winding through honu sangai once more we found ourselves at Lynx humeda this place is bustling with Lively eateries Lynx youa is is also home to yod Bashi a giant discount electronic store right across the street is Osaka station City home to Jr Osaka and da Maru department store They are promoting Expo 2025 Osaka the upscale Grand front Osaka is directly across Sweet Tooth indulge in ke fet Bon where fruit tarts are a work of art it is a blend of Japanese fruits with top-notch baking skills every single tart it is meticulously decorated the Tarts taste light and fresh and make you feel like you’re at a fancy tea party even if you’re actually in pajamas in your hotel room of course we couldn’t pass the unagi eel rice at Grand front as usual three ways to eat the unagi rice eat as is eat with green onion and wasabi add seaweed and soup [Music] stock taking The Pedestrian overpass pass yabashi brings us back to honu Osaka yeda station next to the station is shin yeda Shaka DOI right at the entrance is Hannah Taco there was a line wrapping around the big column under the rail track Hannah Taco is a standing stool serves only takayaki the most popular choice is with mayo and green onion the takayaki are served piping hot straight off the grill they fluffy on the outside and gooey on the inside with the perfect semi-cooked octopus it’s hands down the best takayaki I’ve ever tried shinua suuki is probably the oldest Mall in the area it opened in 1950 and now has 90 restaurants one of the original tenants is Taco Yumi a 180 year-old establishment specializing in Oden they used whale as the essential part of their soup stock which is the secret to their deliciousness that has lasted for 180 years a popular dish here is their marinated octopus known for its perfect balance of softness and chewi subasa specializes in kotaki grilled seafood and vegetables nothing makes your server happier than ordering a glass of SAR and nothing makes the customer happier when the saret glass is overflowing it was March 30th and the Yoko Sakura were in full bloom they bloom a few days earlier than the popular Sam sakur so sadly we won’t see the full bloom cherry blossoms in a no Saka this time Tori no II is a chicken specialist chicken skin serves with lemon juice five kinds of yakatori grilled chicken skewers grilled eggplant with miso Heep five Heep stands for honu entertainment park with about 100 shops and restaurants it is the most visited Fashion Boutique buildings in Osaka located on ground level between Osaka J station and Grand front is griet specializing in freshly baked MAA fi the line is usually long but it wasn’t so bad the day because of the pouring rain the portions are L it was delicious with plenty of strawberries in between the crispy do it is a bit expensive though at 1,400 Yen a pop we stayed at Hotel honu International conveniently located on the north side of umida on our last day we tried their Buffet which is a table order system you order everything from a tablet limited menu items are Li limit to
