In this community, there used to be a lot of crime and drug dealing, you could say that it was the center of drugs. Along the way, there are always uniformed and plainclothes police officers checking. People walking by are always randomly searched. Of course… I was often searched as well. At that time, you definitely would not see foreigners in this community, except for representatives of charity organizations. I am not saying that this place is bad because everywhere there are always good and bad people. But at that time, it was dangerous to go in if you were not a resident of this area. The main reason is that drugs and most of the violent crime in this area also comes from this. But I think the current situation has improved a lot. But I can't say that it is really gone.😅

Getting lost in Klong Teui is an adventure in and of itself, guys. Thank you, both, for not looking down on the less fortunate ones. Some Thais may not have much, financially speaking, but what they do have, are kindness, friendliness, good sense of humour, and a quick smile to cheer you up. . Oh, when you asked the little boy how he was, he answered, "Sabai dee krub pom" which means I am fine, ma'am.
ฉันเคยเข้าไปในชุมชนแออัดหลายแห่งในกรุงเทพฯ ผู้คนส่วนใหญ่เป็นมิตร มีน้ำใจ อาจมีแหล่งมั่วสุมบ้าง โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มวัยรุ่นที่ไม่ได้รับการศึกษา หรือเกเร แต่ชาวบ้านในชุมชนจะเป็นญาติกัน พวกเขาจะคอยเป็นหน่วยระวังภัย เฝ้ามองเตือนภัยกัน โดยรวปลอดภัย และร้านค้าบางร้าน อาหารถูกแบบจานละ 25-30 บาท วันหลังลองไปชุมชนอื่นดู แต่ให้ระวังสุนัข และอึหมาแมวที่ขับถ่ายทิ้งเรี่ยราด😂

call it a slum 2024 is pretty misleading. Its more like a worker community and place with immigrant workers and refugees from Myanmar.
Compared to slums in Philippines or Cambodia or China its a paradise
