  1. I feel the other, smaller land should be for an explicit sci-fi property like Star Trek or something.

  2. Any LOFT-land at Islands of Adventure and Universal UK based on Peter Jackson's universe would be awesome!

  3. LOTR is so big that they could use Toon Lagoon and Marvel Island, and even build new lands in Epic based on Middle-Earth. Anyway they should be based ONLY in Peter Jackson's movies and forget totally the terrible Amazon series.

  4. You know what would be really sweet is a Pirates of the Caribbean style dark ride in the Hobbiton area, where you ride through the town during Bilbo's famous birthday where Merry and Pippin steal the fireworks, leading to Frodo's journey out of Hobbiton; it could even exit you into Rivendell! Then the more perilous E-Ticket could be saved for the Rivendell portion of the park. I think the concept of doing both, like the blueprint set out in the Wizarding World (Hogsmeade/Hogwarts V Hobbiton/Rivendell) is a great idea, and I'm sure Universal would nail the scale. I can see them using it to launch Universal GB and then building another in Epic Universe 5 years later or something.

  5. Even more than the rights issue, building a Harry Potter land in the UK would really hurt Orlando. The Harry Potter lands are practically pilgrimage sites for British people, so having them across the pond would devastate attendance stateside.

I am very curious if a Lord of the Rings land will ever happen, but I'm not going to bother thinking about it much. Epic Universe is already rumored to be getting expansions first – Nintendo, Monsters and Potter – and the other two parks have new lands on the way – Zelda and Pokémon. While it could definitely happen in the UK, it's a good decade from happening at Epic Universe. Which is probably a good thing for the UK's chances…

  6. I'd love it to be built in the rumoured UK Universal Park. The 'obvious' lands to do would be Rivendell (Elven town) because of how beautiful it'd look, Hobbiton (Hobbit rolling hills and houses and little bridges etc), Mirkwood Forest, Misty Mountains and Mines of Moria (Dwarven mines), with a Prancing Pony (pub) somewhere too 🙂

The ride I feel lends itself immediately to a theme park is the Mines Of Moria, a Dwarven rail cart ride similar to Thunder Mountain but indoors and wonderful perspective spaces to show the great depth of it, with a Balrog end monster similar to the Yeti ride.

I'd love to see some sort of large ride like a Jurassic Park boat ride starting at Rivendell and travelling through Mirkwood Forest with large moving Ents (equivalent of a t-rex animatronic), large Mirkwood Spiders and ending at the end of the Forest at Misty Mountains with Smaug the Dragon and the piles of gold.

Hobbiton would lend itself to a more child friendly track ride where you sit inside a horse & cart travelling through Hobbiton, little rivers, bridges, hobbit houses etc.

Food places could be Prancing Pony (pub), Hobbiton House, Rivendell Grand Hall, Tom Bombadil's House

  7. I think it would be clever to base e-ticket atraction on iconic moments of the films. That would attract lots of multitudes from everywhere!!

  8. Lord of The Rings supposedly(rumor) will be one of the lands at Universal Studios UK. Currently, there are no plans to built lord of the rings in any of the United States parks.

  9. On top of what others have said, It’d be cool to see a boat/dark ride with some of the main moments of Sam and Frodo’s journey with the ring. Seeing the big spider, Sauron’s eye and fighting with gollum to throw it into the volcano.

Also I could see a hobbit expansion with an intense Smaug themed coaster where you encounter him before getting launched.

It would also be so cool if they could make a realistic looking version of the eye to have looking over a whole land and watching you.

  10. Unfortunately JR Tolkien was a ginormous idiot and thus I hate him and Lord of the rings in turn.

  11. Thousands of Brits take a trip to Florida every year.

If they are SMART about it they will no build ANY lands they can find in Florida so that people Double Dip and go to Florida AND UK
