Mangshan Wuzhifeng Scenic Area is located at 112°59’28” east longitude and 24°55’39” north latitude, at the northern foot of the Nanling Mountains and at the junction of Hunan and Guangdong provinces. It is connected to Yizhang County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province , and Ruyuan , Yangshan, Lianzhou and other places in Guangdong Province. It has an area of 40 square kilometers.
莽山·五指峰景区（英文名：Mangshan Wuzhifeng Scenic Area）[8]位于东经112°59’28″，北纬24°55’39″，位于南岭山脉北麓、湘粤两省交界处。湖南省郴州市宜章县与广东省乳源、阳山、连州等地一山相连，万壑交汇，面积达到40平方千米

莽山·五指峰景区，地形地貌以山地为主，地势险峻，拥有独特的地质结构，包括显著的断层、褶皱以及丰富的岩石类型。水文特征显著，溪流纵横，瀑布众多。气候类型属于亚热带季风气候。植被覆盖率高，以亚热带常绿阔叶林为主，包含多种珍稀植物。坐拥大莽山核心精华景观，内有五指峰、金鞭大峡谷、金鞭神柱、摩天岭、天台山、观音古寺及万寿塔等数十个景点。

“中国南脊·湘粤莽山”——地球同纬度保存最完好的原始森林、中国南方动植物基因库、南岭山脉花岗岩地质山体。湖南省面积最大国家森林公园，拥有湖南省第二个“张家界”“小黄山”的称号。

The Mangshan Wuzhifeng Scenic Area is dominated by mountainous terrain with steep terrain and unique geological structure, including significant faults, folds and rich rock types. The hydrological characteristics are remarkable, with numerous streams and waterfalls. The climate type is subtropical monsoon climate . The vegetation coverage rate is high, mainly subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests , including a variety of rare plants. It owns the core landscape of the Mangshan Mountain, including dozens of scenic spots such as Wuzhifeng, Jinbian Grand Canyon, Jinbian Shenzhu, Motianling, Tiantai Mountain, Guanyin Ancient Temple and Wanshou Pagoda.

“China’s Southern Ridge – Hunan and Guangdong Mangshan” – the best-preserved virgin forest at the same latitude on Earth , the gene bank of plants and animals in southern China, and the granite geological mountain of the Nanling Mountains. It is the largest national forest park in Hunan Province and has the title of the second ” Zhangjiajie ” and “Little Huangshan ” in Hunan Province.

History
In 2017, Beijing Zhongjingxin Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with the Yizhang County Government on the development of the Mangshan cultural tourism industry, planning to invest 3 billion yuan to build sightseeing cableways, suspended plank roads, vertical elevators, theme hotels, etc., to turn Mangshan into a national 5A-level tourist attraction. In May of the following year, the first phase of the Mangshan Wuzhifeng Scenic Area project, with an investment of 1 billion yuan, officially started. With a focus on the tour system, service facilities, and transportation facilities, passenger cableways, tourist trails, escalators, inclined ladders, vertical elevators, and automatic elevators were built. 16 months later, the construction of the suspended tourist trail, which cost an average of 12 million yuan per kilometer, was completed, and the elevators, hoists, and various facilities were completed simultaneously.
