Photo by #CanonExplorerOfLight @darrellgulin | “I raised this trio of Leopard Lacewing Butterflies, Cethosia cyane, and photographed them in my kitchen. I’ve had the USDA permit in the past allowing me to raise and photograph some tropical butterflies. To keep all three of these butterflies in focus, I used f/16 for greater depth of field. Also I placed the three butterflies on the flower, and worked really hard on keeping them on the same focal plane. Like a butterfly whisperer, I would place them on the flower over and over until I got just the right composition. The background is an out of focus print taped on the window behind the butterflies. I made sure that it was with matte paper and of course printed on my Canon PIXMA PRO-100 printer.” Camera: #Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II
