This year, to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the shrine’s establishment, the Shikinen Taisai will be held on Tuesday, September 17th from 11:00. The festival in September will see the parade of portable shrines on Saturday, September 14th, Sunday, September 15th, and 16th (national holiday, some areas only), but on Sunday, September 15th, a first attempt will see all the parishioners of the town enter the shrine. At 10:30, all the town’s tall lanterns and 25 portable shrines will gather at the south exit of Otsuka Station and head to the shrine. This is an unprecedented and precious opportunity for all the parishioners of the town to come together.
