  1. '…crossing all of Liechtenstein…'
That sounds grander than it ought to. 😃

Whilst not wanting to speculate on your disposable income, such houses cost a couple of million. I looked it up, it's not like I'm interested in purchasing one. 🙂 Think about CHF2.5m and upwards. I saw one for CHF7m or so, but no doubt that would be a very nice property indeed.

What's interesting, though, is that just today the Nobel Prize for Economics was awarded. And the scientists that won it did research on differences in wealth and prosperity between countries. It turns out that, for a country to be wealthy, you need political stability. Few countries come to mind that are as politically stable as Switzerland.

Just one final comment. An hour's delay is a lot, but the very intimate hug that we witness as you alight the train, reminds us that there are more important things in life.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience!

  2. I personally prefer the night train to leave later in the evening/night and arrive later in the morning, which this train does.14:50 In Czech Republic, almost all people go to the sea in Croatia and it has become such a stereotype that as a person who hates stereotypes, I don't like Croatia at all, especially beaches with stones. I think Italy is better than Croatia at all.

  3. Nice trip. Dont think I'll ever persuade my wife to take an ordinary sleeper. One of those new fancy Italian ones maybe…

Our holiday next year is likely to be to Trieste then on to Llubjana (including a trip to Lake Bled) then to Zagreb. Love Croatia – Balkan food is fabulous..

  4. From Sibiu (Hermannstadt) in Transsylvania (Romania) to Budapesta (Budapest) in Hungary in a CFR couchette ! Cheap and clean but old 2021 ! No border controls in Jesenice ? ".. Granicna Jesenice ! Pässe u Ausweis bitte.. " in 1988

  5. Great stuff. I was originally planning to take this train back in April when I was Interrailing, but I just couldn't pass on all the spectacular Alpine scenery you miss when you travel overnight. So I took several daytime options instead (and saved about 300 euros 🤣). This makes me want to go back to Slovenia. Cheers

  6. Great video! Reconstruction of the whole section between Slovenia/Croatia border and Zagreb is now fully completed, so there will be no more delays at least regarding Croatian side 🙂 Operating speed on this part of the route is now 120 km/h (before reconstruction it was 60 km/h).

  7. Looks a decent carriage and a really beautiful journey. I'll never understand how people get a decent night's sleep on sleeper trains though

  8. The houses you saw along Lake Zürich are actually on the "cheaper" side of the lake, as it is more shadowy. The other, sunny side of the lake is known as "Good Coast" for a reason.

  9. Nice video…
I had plan to travel from Zagreb to Zurich last year by night train, but it was sold almost month in advance…Alternative was from Zagreb to Vienna in the morning and then night train from Vienna to Zurich

  10. I spent quite a good night in the same Croatian sleeper from Zagreb to Split in 2019. I wish such sleepers operated between Budapest and Split.

  11. Nice video! We went by car from Dubrovnik all the way to Lake Bled, with a side trip to Mostar in Bosnia two years ago. Would definitely like to take this sleeper train.

  12. How biased your reviews are. If water doesn't come in Indian train toilets, you definitely make it a point while summarising 😮

  13. I, too, love Switzerland. When I was working there a couple of decades ago, even small houses were so expensive that 99-year mortgages were available, with the debt automatically passed on to children and grandchildren. Yikes! Thanks, grandpa.

  14. Can I ask about security? You said the room can only be locked from the inside, so what did you do when you left the room? Did you take your valuables with you or just risk leaving the door unlocked? I’ve heard so many stories of theft on night trains, so was just wondering if you felt safe on this journey? Great video btw, as always.
